Teheran, 1979: Revolutionary forces has taken the control of the city after over throwing the Dictator Shah Pahlavi. Shah escapes to America and American government denies the extradition. Furious mob attacks the US embassy situated in Tehran and take hostage its 52 US diplomats. Six of them gets the chance to escape from back door and takes refuge in Canadian embassy. Revolutionary forces soon discovers the absence of missing diplomats.
CIA agent Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) is given a job to rescue the six diplomats out of Iran safely. To make things secret they enters Iran as Hollywood movie crew. His boss Mendez’s boss (Bryan Cranston) likes the idea and gave it green signal.
