Evan Birch (Guy Pearce) is a loving father, husband and also a respected Professor of Philosophy in well named college. He is well known for his illicit relations with his students in past. One day, he comes to know about one of his missing student Joyce (Odeya Rush). Detective Malloy (Pierce Brosnan) is given the case to investigate and knocks on the door of Evan. Evan is not able to answer his questions as he does not remember about last week. When investigation goes further, things belonging to Joyce are discovered in side the car of Evan, just the day of missing. Now his wife Ellen ( Minnie Driver ) also believes he is the mastermind behind all this. All evidence shows the involvement of professor in he crime. Evan starts his own persecution to prove himself innocent.
