(Denzel Washington) is a lawyer working in a small firm from almost thirty years. He is fighting for the the rights of the oppressed. His world is shattered wen his partner and also business owner dies. Another famus lawyer George (Colin Farrell) recognizes the talent hidden in Roman and offers him a well positioned job in his own law firm. Roman hesitates at first, but later accepts the offer of George. When his first client pays him the money, a new life begins for Roman full of strict decisions and luxury. Soon he discover himself trapped between the one of the most dangerous people of Los Angeles.
