Story is a of a Dog named Bailey (Voiced by Josh Gad).He is seen telling his own story.His story starts with Ethan (K.J. Apa), who brings him home during his childhood. When ever Ethan is low on life and is unhappy,Bailey does the things that makes Ethan happy.They build a strong relationship between each other.When Ethan grows up as does the Bailey,Ethan found love his life in girl named Hannah (Britt Robertson).Years passes and Bailey gets too old and her time with Ethan comes to an end and he dies. Shockingly after death,Bailey’s soul gets into another body of dog but this time a female dog. He is adopted by the local police to help them in day to day police operations.Bailey is living a life in loop.Each time he is dead he gets a birth as new dog.In one of his re birth he gets to meet old version of Ethan,still living in his old house. This we come to know about the purpose of Dog in our life through the journey of Dog through its various births
