Movie shows the early days of Tupac in New York city.His father Billy Garland was a Back Panther member and was raised by his mother named Afeni Shakur. At the time of birth,her mother was in jail due to bombing charges.She was later released as she was relieved from all charges. Tupac was named as Lesane Parish Crooks intially but later changed his name.

Tupac childhood was filled with problems. His mother reached him radical politics but was addicted to substance.Soon he started working in the theater.After that he started studying in Baltimore School for the Arts.At this time he started to practice rap music.He later moved to west coast with his family and comes into contact with a Hip Hop group named Digital Underground. Here he debuted with album 2Pacalypse Now.His second album was Strictly 4 My N. I. G. G. A. Z.

Tupac now wants to try his luck in movies and he signed his first movie Juice in 1991 with Omar Epps and Samuel L. Jackson.He worked in few more movies.He was involved in many Controversies.He was sent to jail for sexual assaults.He was caught between the rivalry of west coast and east coast rappers, that resulted in his death in September 13, 1996.
