Based on a true story of John Callahan. John Callahan (Joaquin Phoenix) is alcoholic, who lost his legs in an accident. Now he wants to give up on alcohol and starts therapy where he meet Donnie (Jonah Hill). With not much left in life, Jon feels very miserable. John’s girlfriend Annu (Rooney Mara) and Donnie convinces him to use his talent of drawing cartoons in local newspaper, from where he becomes a national celebrity in no time.
