Set in Northwestern United States 1983, Red (Nicolas Cage) lives in a cabin in the woods along with his girlfriend Mandy (Andrea Riseborough). Mandy spend her days while reading fantasy paperbacks and paints surreal pictures. together they live strange but normal life. One day she is kidnapped by crazed cult leader Redeemer Jeremiah (Linus Roache) with help from group of motorcycle-riding demons. Jeremiah wants to make physical relation with Mandy but she declines the offer. He burns Mandy alive in front of Red, who is bound with barbed wire and injured with a knife. Red manages to escape and comes up with his deadly chainsaw to start a blood-soaked vendetta.
