Set in near future, A deadly disease killed almost 98% of children in US and survived children are developing superpowers like can manipulating people, read minds, or move objects by thought force. Government thinks it as a threat, so they are imprisoning them in a secure facility. Sixteen-year-old Ruby (Amandla Stenberg) is strongest and rare among them, who escapes from the government facility to be along with other runway kids Liam (Harris Dickinson), Chubs (Skylan Brooks) and Zu (Miya Cech). She was handed over by his parents to authorities when she was only 10 years old. Now, together they are searching for a safe place where all children like them can live their life. Soon they realize, running is not the answer and they must fight back against the government who betrayed them.
