Film starts 2,000 years from now. Ahmanet, (Sofia Boutella) is the young princess who is running for the leadership of Egypt. Her father is not supporting her and wants that his son will rule the Egypt. Ahmanet kills her father and wants to take the charge of the throne.She is caught by the loyal soldiers of her father and they bury her alive as mummy under the sand and a huge tomb is built where her body is kept, so that no one can access it ever.

Now in modern times,US army soldier Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) is able to discover the Tomb and the mummy of the princess,which they decides to take to their country for further examinations.This was not a tomb but a prison.The team includes Jenny Halsey (Annabelle Wallis) and Colonel Gideon Forster (Courtney B. Vance).While transferring using military aircraft,they are stuck by millions of birds and the aircraft crashes into a forest.Except Jenny,everybody on the flight is killed in this mysterious crash.

Nick comes to life under mysterious circumstances and believes he saw the princess at the crash site.Dr. Henry Jekyll (Russell Crowe) tells Nick that he is alive because he is chosen by the ancient princess for some reason. She is using Nick to regain her lost powers and is here to claim, what she was denied long time ago and can cross any limit she is capable of.
