Joe (Joaquin Phoenix) has been dropped from the military as well as from the FBI and now earn living by doing rough jobs falls outside the law. His job includes rescuing children from the clutches of perverts. His way of work is very brutal and uses hammer to kill his enemies. All his jobs are given to him by his boss John McCleary (John Doman). Senator Votto (Alex Manette) wants to hire him for a similar job. His daughter Nina (Ekaterina Samsonov) has been kidnapped by the sex traffickers and wants Joe to bring her back home safely. Senator does not want any public attention or to police to involve. Joe agrees immediately and gets his hammer to embark on mission.
